With Love

First things first! My deepest, most sincere apologies for going MIA! I’m a terrible person, woe be unto me, and I do hope that you fabulous people can find a place in your heart to forgive this contrite blogger. But really - this last month of college has been hectic, to say the least.

Unfortunately, I have just a bit of bad news – grab your boxes of Kleenex guys - this is the FINAL 430 blog. You see, next semester, the dimensions of suite 430 are going to change. Two of our characters, Daniella and Britta will be on student exchange on the mainland, leaving suite 430 painfully incomplete. But don’t panic. While Suite 430 won’t be full of the usuals, the 430 bond will definitely remain.

So what’s been happening in 430 these past few weeks?

Well I’de loveee to tell you about Chanelle and Jaspers rekindled friendship, the deets on Lana and Brandon’s new relationship, and the fact that Cher and Kenneth are once again joined at the hip, but this blog is so much bigger than that today. ;)

This blogger realizes that many of my readers may be headed off to college next year. So here’s a few things that we 430ers learned together this year…

7 Tips to Having a Freshman year as AWESOME as 430’s:

1.     Bring Ramen. And LOTS of it. (Daniella = Ramen Addict.)

2.    Running into your new suitemate’s room and “stealing” their snacks while they are in there is a perfectly good way to become friends with them….[right Britta? ;) ]

3.    Play lots of Just Dance! (ty Farrah!)

4.    Only take hour long showers singing at the top of your lungs when you’re sure that no one else needs to bathe (ahem, Cher…luv you!).

5.    Coin your own catch phrase…(i.e. “ain dat kind a party” – Nina)

6.    Look fab! (Coco Chanelle fab!)

7.    And Finally -Try something new…like the dance team! :D (Double High Fives to Amy & Lana!)

And now it’s time for my farewells. (And In case you haven’t figured it out, this faithful (cough cough) blogger is none other than Daniella. :} )

Nobody could have imagined such an overwhelmingly grand Freshman year – but it’s awesomeness was all due to the amazing girls of suite 430:

Nina! You cray! :P But getting to know you was awesome. Stay sweet, and try to stay out of trouble! ;)

Farrah!!! My sweet and sassy “The Voice” date! Thanks for all the laughs, long talks, and ramen! You’re going to do great things! I can feel it!

Cher – my dear, delightful and easily amused Cher! [Lol.] I think that if I had a daughter she’d be just like you – a complete nutcase! Keep doing what you’re best at – being your strikingly unique self.

Lana. My ride or die, all day every day chic! Coming to college with you has been fun – to say the least. Never forget who you are – and always let your great talents shine through.

Chanelle! You are such a supporter of foolishness….but I love ya! And you are the best at making me laugh! Stay amazing.

Amy!!! I adore you and your favorite weirdo! ;) lol. No matter how far away from each other time takes us, I know we’’ll always have each other’s back!

And last but not least, Britta. OHHH Britta. I didn’t come to college expecting to make a new best friend, but here we are. We’re so alike, and yet so different – but that’s what makes us great at being crazy together! LUH you! And can’t wait to go on our student exchange adventure!

Hey! Guess what I just realized – This is blog number seven! I may have missed some weeks, but seven is the number of completion, so I think we’re okay. 0:)

It’s been a wonderful, crazy – amazing ride 430’ers. I’ll never forget this year.

Falling

     Ladies and gents, it seems there’s been wholllee lot of ‘falling’ in suite 430 these days. Worry not - no paramedics were needed. But as you read on, I’m sure that you’ll figure out just what I mean.

     The biggest fall of the week surrounds Brandon and Lana. After months of ups and downs, this ‘Hot & Cold’ couple have finally fallen together. I mean it folks, Brandon and Lana are official. Brandon sprung the question on a very surprised Lana during a spontaneous 430 black light dance party (thanks for the use of your black light Cher!). After an ear-splitting scream from a very ecstatic Cher, the news spread around the group like ramen noodles on a bad dinner night. Lana and Brandon can now join our archive of certified 430 couples, along with the ever loving Amy and Bryan.

     Unfortunately, while Brandon and Lana were falling together, it seems our other 430 “couples” have fallen apart – namely Jasper & Chanelle and Hector and Britta. But, on the bright side, all the details surrounding these separations provided the chance for Britta, Chanelle, Farrah, and Daniella to fall into a deeper friendship. After many play fights, chicken habanero sandwiches ( sorry Farrah! None for the vegetarian ;} ), and reruns of Phineas and Ferb, these girls are tighter than ever.

     As for Cher and Kenneth, they have fallen into their friendship status with ease. As far as this blogger can see, all the effort that they have put in to keep up their friendship has proven to be successful.

     Now I’m sure you’re wondering about Daniella, her feelings for Kenneth, and her mystery guy. For all those who were wondering, her mystery guy was a very nice someone she met on a 430 outing. However, after deep evaluation, she found that she had feelings neither for Kenneth (anymore) nor the mystery guy. She has simply fallen out of interest with the whole idea of crushes – for now anyway O:).

     As you can see, a lot of falling has definitely been going on with our 430 crew. But like Hayley Williams, writer for Paramore says,

“Sometimes it takes a good fall to really know where you stand.”

Spring Cleaning

     And finally, the sun is shining a little brighter, the birds are a little more cheery, and the grass is just a little bit greener. Spring has come to the VI, and the fresh feeling in the air has affected everyone, including each of our 430 characters. Before we find out what’s in the air in 430 these days, let’s take a few steps back and find out what happened during spring break.

     Last week was a whirlwind of beach visits and video games for the characters that stayed on campus, and a mini tornado of fun visits for the characters that went home. Between playing Xbox, almost getting thrown out of the only department store on island (is it really a crime to play hide & seek in a store?!), and attempting a 6 – way Oovoo chat, some developments in the drama of 430 managed to still come to light.

     During the break, Cher finally took the time out to seriously consider her ties to Kenneth. Her decision? She liked him as a friend and nothing more. Lana also did some serious thinking, and decided to make a formal and final statement on the actual level of she and Brandon’s relationship within one week of returning to the campus. Even Andrew seemed to be making some changes for a second there, attempting to move on from Farrah. Meanwhile, Britta got closer to Hector (so cute!) as did Coco and Jasper (who were spotted ‘burning calories’ [ahem ahem] just before the break). Even Daniella seems to be getting in on all the action…unbeknownst to a lot of the 430 clan she has a new ‘friend.’

     So it seems that all the 430 peeps are in the spring cleaning mood - out with the old and in with the new, right? Well, let’s see what’s happened since the clan reunited. So far, Cher and Kenneth have been strictly in friend mode, with little to no animosity between them. Lana and Brandon were a little distant for a few days, but seem to be pulling back to each other once again. Hector and Britta are making strides in their ‘friendship,’ and we’re expecting Coco and Jasper to do the same. And as for Andrew – it seems like he just can’t stay away. Apparently, he and Farrah have a connection that none other can comprehend – not even this blogger.

And once again, blog quota beckons. So –

Can Cher and Kenneth keep up this “Just friends” thing? Will Lana and Brandon FINALLY become official? What about Hector and Britta? And just who is Daniella’s “friend”? Doesn’t she still have feelings for Kenneth?

Truth or Truth

This. Is. It. All the 430 confessions that you’ve been waiting for. Before we get into the drama of it all, let me clue you in on the rules of the game.

The name of every character ever blogged about was written on a paper and put in a bag. Then each character picked a name at random and wrote an anonymous question to that person, which they were challenged to answer with complete honesty.

As the blogger assigned to put all this into print, I now give you the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. Let the games begin.

Jasper

Q: Describe your ideal girlfriend. Which of these qualities does Chanelle have?

A: My ideal girlfriend would be smart, cute, funny, adventurous, faithful, able to express herself, and have a nice body. Technically, I haven’t known Chanelle for that long, so for right now, I can definitely say that she’s smart, cute, funny, and has a nice body.

Amy

Q: What do you see in your future with your current boyfriend, Bryan?

A: My future with Bryan is bright – I see us transferring to UF together and being just as happy as we are now. Further down the line….I see myself coming home from a long day of work and finding my husband with dinner set and offering me a nice foot rub… lol ;) I love that boy!

Kenneth

Q: Describe the relationship you have with Cher and how you feel about her.

A: My relationship with Cher is “confusing” to say the least. Some days she seems like she is interested in me, and other days it seems we’re just friends. I enjoy her company either way, but I’de like her to be mine full time.

Brandon

Q: Why aren’t you dating Lana when clearly you have everything a perfect relationship can/will contain?

A: I gots issues.

Nina

Q: If you had to pick one boy from the 430 blog crew to date, who would it be?

A: Kenneth, because he looks good!

Britta

Q: Do you like Hector and do you see a future with him?

A: Yes, I do. And sometimes I’m unsure.

 Daniella

Q: Who is secretly crushing on Kenneth?

A: Sigh. I am. Not so secret anymore, huh? *runs for cover*

Andrew

Q: Why you so fed up?

A:  I say that primarily because I like the way it sounds (Santannaa). At other times I really am fed up because I don’t understand why the girl I like keeps turning me down.

Lana

Q: Why don’t you leave Brandon alone, since he is clearly indecisive in what he wants?

A: Okay…I guess I’m kind of indecisive about what I want too. Well, that’s not entirely true. I know I’m happy when I’m around him. He makes me smile, laugh, enjoy the present, and I feel like I can be myself around him. He also has a killer smile (I’m a sucker for a cute smile). He’s indecisive, but he is a sweet and awesome person. Even if we get nowhere and eventually “leave each other alone,” I’m going to enjoy the friendship until it grows or ends. I may be a hopeless romantic who’s gonna get her heart broken, but some things are worth the risk.

Chanelle

Q: What is going on between you and Jasper? How close are you?

A: Well, at the moment, Jasper and I are talking, hanging out, and just straight chilling. As for how close we are, I’de say 8 on a scale of 1 – 10.

Farrah

Q: Be honest, why don’t you want to be with Andrew? You say you see him as a friend, but it’s obvious that you like him a lot…

A: I just don’t want a Bf right now. Honestly.

Bryan

Q: What is the one thing that you haven’t told your girlfriend Amy because you’re afraid of how she’ll take it?

A: I had a fling with a girl in Spain...

Hector

Q: How do you feel about Britta? Do you like her and how far do you see you guys taking your relationship now?

A: I like her. I can’t explain how I feel in this moment, but I do want to see if something more can happen between us. But as for right now, we’re just friends.

Cher

Q: You say your feelings for Kenneth are purely those of friendship. But it seems as though he’s trying to move on and that’s not what you want. What do you really want?

A: I don’t know what I want. I don’t want a relationship but I don’t want to lose him. It’s not that I don’t want him to move on, I just don’t want him to be unhappy if he does. I have so much on my mind right now that I just can’t get into.

Well there you have it. What happens now? I have no clue. But what I do know is that suite 430 will always need -

A ton load of peace, love, and so much more hope for the struggle.

Not Anymore?

 It’s been a relatively calm week in suite 430 – relative being the key word here. But with the amount of “not anymore’s” floating around, this blogger has to wonder if this is simply the calm before the storm. Let’s put these “not anymore’s” in context shall we?

The first ‘not anymore’ came awhile back from our vogue-worthy character, Chanelle (if you’re a little sketchy on her character, check out blog #1 for some background). She had just broken up with her boyfriend and had decided that she was not going to be into dating anymore. Her heart was on lockdown – or so she said anyway. Just this week, she’s been seen spending quality time with a character we haven’t yet met.

Meet Jasper: Jasper lives in the suite right next to 430. He’s a great mixture of smart, silly, and cool. He also has a great sense of style (which Chanelle definitely appreciates!).

Now back to the story. Chanelle and Jasper have recently been seen hanging out and studying together. They also had a noticeably enjoyable time at the beach where they conversed and engaged in many a play-fight while the other 430ers looked on from the ocean. Needless to say, they’re definitely involved in a flirtationship that is headed in the right direction.

Our next ‘not anymore’ came from Britta, who had decided that she and Hector should stay friends for awhile, even after the Valentine’s presents. However, she too was seen being comfy with Hector on the beach while the 430 girls did a very discreet (not so much – Daniella couldn’t stop giggling :P ) walk by. Things have been a little different between them lately though, so this blogger is not sure just where they’re headed.

And we can’t forget the ‘not anymore’ of Lana, who claimed that she and her friendlike boy, Brandon, had talked things out and decided that they were also just friends. This not anymore didn’t last too long. After just one day, things seemed to be back to normal for them – from the outside looking in anyway. They clearly have some sort of love/hate thing going on.

Then there are the “not anymore’s” of both Kenneth and Cher. They both declared that they were also just friends. This one lasted longer than some others, with a noticeable change in their friendship for just a few days. ATM, though, there friendship seems to be back to normal. But they’re rather borderline when it comes to the whole “just friends” thing.

Even the secret of who’s crushing on Kenneth is not so secret anymore. The 430 sleuths have been on the case, and Britta, Chanelle, Farrah, Lana, and Amy all confirmed just who this girl is. That in itself is enough clue for you, my dear readers. The list of possibilities is now narrowed down to just a few.

Honestly, with all the not anymore’s going around 430, this blogger is not at all sure what’s about to go down. There’s a lull in drama at the moment, but it seems as though something big is about to happen. What? I’m not sure, but you’ll have to stay tuned to find out.

What’s coming next week?

A Love Bug Infestation

Well it’s that time of the year again – heart shaped chocolates are plentiful, the sweet smell of roses is everywhere, and good old Cupid thinks it appropriate to frolic around 430, shooting his arrows with no abandon. Did he hit the bulls eye, or make a mess of it all? We’ll find out tonight, ladies and gents.

Remember Hector from our Intro Blog? The one who was crushing on one of the “bold” girls of suite 430? In case you haven’t figured it out yet, that bold chic is none other than Britta. Earlier in the week, witnesses from behind the scenes saw them getting very – well - cozy. However, as it turns out, later in the week they decided to stay friends for a while, due to unrelated circumstances. But then, how many “friends” show up in your suite at 12:15 am on the morning of February 14^th to bring you gourmet chocolate? (Yum! Thanks for sharing Britta!) Hector also bought Britta an adorable bear, which she affectionately named after him. Just friends? What do you think?

And now we get into the tale of Kenneth and his 430 crush – yes, you guessed it, the extraordinary Cher. Without going into too much detail, I’ll simply tell you that Kenneth and Cher have quite a history. And if you haven’t figured it out, Cher doesn’t exactly feel the same way that Kenneth feels about her – not all the time, anyway. He didn’t cease to amaze this Valentine’s Day though. With the help of Daniella and Lana, he managed to surprise Cher with a dozen red roses and five packages of her favorite snacks placed artistically around it (good job Daniella!). Cher was ecstatic, and proceeded to envelope Kenneth in a multitude of “thank-you” hugs, but some of us 430ers get the feeling that that’s not exactly the reaction he wanted…

So now we sidetrack to answer the question that’s been burning in all our hearts since we read blog 1. Who’s secretly crushing on Kenneth?

Psych! Unfortunately for you, the answer can’t be given up that quickly. But, if you’re an insider on this case, a little clue may help you. This girl happens to live in the same building as Kenneth. Now, as for the rest of her info, all I can say is that she may by closer than he thinks – and I use ‘may’ very strongly. Keep guessing folks!

By now you must be wondering about how our Aphrodite, Lana, spent her day of love. Well, she exchanged gifts with her friendlike boy, (not to be misinterpreted as boyfriend) Brandon. She also received a “like letter’ from another resident. Unfortunately, she’s also receiving the cold shoulder from one of her guy friends whom she used to be tight with. It’s been a high/low day for her, and I’m sure she’d agree that being the goddess of love isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.

And now to a story that’s a little more pleasant. Princess Farrah woke up this morning to find one large teddy bear, one small teddy bear, and a box of chocolate at the foot of her bed. They brought her an instant smile that hasn’t left her all day. Her not so secret “secret valentine”? The one and only, ever patient, ever persistent Andrew. If you knew all the background to this story, you’d understand. But let’s just say Andrew has been pursuing Farrah for quite sometime. Why? Because, according to him, she’s worth it (insert awwwwww’s here!).

The suite 430 girls themselves celebrated their day together by singing a Valentines Day melody. Singing together always results in laughs and much more for the suite 430 girls, and tonight was no different. They giggled and joked their way through their favorite love tunes – from Brian McKnight straight through to Justin Bieber (as long as you lo lo lo lo lo love meee).

Meet Suite 430

Late night outings; Undercover Spy Missions; Spontaneous Sleepovers; Laughs; Fights; Friends; Crushes; Kisses and Misses. In other words, Life in Suite 430.

    

So unless you actually live in suite 430, you probably have no idea what suite 430 is. Suite 430 is where six very interesting girls live together. Why? Because they’re all college suitemates. I’m one of those suitemates – but which one, you’ll have to figure out on your own. 0:)

Let’s meet these fabulous people, shall we? Actual names will not be given, of course – no need to give the paparazzi a lead, right? Meet:

Nina: This is a fiery one. So fiery, in fact, that she is sometimes too hot to handle. Despite her level of crazy, none of us girls can deny that she is completely lovable, and someone we’ll never forget.

Britta: Britta means strong, and that fits this character perfectly. She’s strong mentally and physically, and we girls have a few scars to prove it. She’s not easy to warm up, but when you do get to know her, you’ll never want to let her go.

Cher: This character is very likely to end up being the topic of a lot of the suite 430 “struggle,” for reasons you’ll notice as I blog on. Personality wise, she’s a total sweetheart. She has a fantastic sense of humor, and is really comfortable in her own skin. She is a little misguided sometimes – but aren’t we all?

Farrah: Farrah just may be the most pleasant person in suite 430. She’s sweet all over with a little spice to keep you entertained, and she’s the kind of girl who’s always there when you need her. Her “struggle” story is pretty interesting too, and involves a character that we’ll meet later.

Lana: Oh Lana. Lana might just be the Aphrodite of our suite. Her powers of beauty have caught many a victim, but when it comes to the girls in our suite, she’s always ride or die!

Daniella: Last but not least, we meet Daniella. She is definitely the comedian of the girl group. And when it comes to drama, she usually likes to find herself on the sidelines, analyzing the going ons and predicting what’s going to happen next.

And now we meet the associates of Suite 430. We’ll try to keep these introductions short. Meet:

Amy: This charrie is quite the bella donna. She’s strong but sweet, with a very open and understanding approach to life. She’s easy to talk to, and often the go – to person when any of our characters need to talk.

Chanelle: Much like Coco – this girl has an eye for fashion. Her sense of humor is always appreciated, and she’s also good for conversation.

Andrew: Andrew is the longtime friend of Lana and Daniella. He’s a cool guy – in general. He is known for his oddly random sayings – and his stature. :P

Kenneth: This guy is going to become a character of interest very soon. He’s a bit of a nerd – but only because he’s actually really smart. He is to the boys what Daniella is to the girls – the one that is sure to make everyone laugh.

Brandon: There’s only one word that can fully describe Brandon, and that’s softy. He’s pretty funny though, and a cool guy to keep around.

Hector: This character’s new to the gang, but it seems as though he will be of real interest very soon.

Bryan: This one’s a total weirdo. We all love him – some more than others – but he is definitely a strange one. We’ll learn more about him later.

Phew. There are a few more characters associated with Suite 430, but we introduce them as we go along, if you don’t mind. I’m pretty sure you’re ready for the real story now – the dirt, the dish! But, I’ve totally overran my blog quota for the day. Don’t worry, here’s a little taste of what’s to come to keep you interested…;)

So – Hector’s crushing on one of the bold girls of suite 430. Can you guess which one? Kenneth’s also crushing on a suite 430 girl, but unbeknownst to him, another one of our characters is crushing on him! And we can’t forget the saga of Andrew and one of our more sugary suite 430 girls. OH the drama! All this, and lots more to come, seeing as Cupid’s play day is around the corner.
